Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi is the word used today to mean “massage therapist” or “Hawaiian massage.” In the Hawaiian language, the word used traditionally, called lomi, means”to knead, to rub, or soothe; to work in and out, as the paws of a contented cat.”

The Lomi Lomi massage at Rapunzel’s Salon and Spa is considered to be one of the most relaxing massage techniques we offered. Often described as waves cascading up and down the body, a Lomi Lomi massage is sure to have you reach complete relaxation.

Hot Stone Massage

LaStone Therapy is similar to, but not exactly the same as hot stone massage, which is a generic phrase that can be used by anyone. LaStone uses 54 hot stones, 18 chilled stones, and one room temperature stone. Alternating between heat and cold both stimulates and relaxes the circulatory system, which is very detoxifying for the body. In cooperation with heated stones, chilled marble stones create a dramatic movement of fluids within the body.

Swedish Massage

The Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the United States. It is also the foundation for many of today’s most popular techniques such as aromatherapy, deep tissue, among others. Swedish Massage warms up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle “knots” or adhered tissues, called adhesions.

Swedish massages improve blood circulation, which helps you feel more energetic by increasing the flow of nutrient-rich oxygen to the muscles in your body. Additionally, it stimulates the lymphatic system, which carries the body’s waste products, meaning you’ll process the good and the bad much quicker.

Our massage therapists are licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and are regularly measured on high standards of quality assurance—ensuring a safe, positive, and beneficial experience for our clients.
